The Rotunda Museum

The Rotunda Museum

The Rotunda Museum, described as the finest surviving purpose-built museum of its age in the country, was built in 1828 to a design suggested by William Smith, ‘Father of English Geology’.

The Rotunda is currently closed for redevelopment and will reopen in Spring 2008 as a museum of geology.
